About Readers.com

Readers.com began as a home business in Greenwood, Indiana. Angie and Randy Stocklin started the company in 2006 selling eyewear and have grown the company into the hugely successful online retailer it is today.

Angie and her team personally select over 700 pairs of reading glasses with power magnifications from +1.00 to +7.00. There are a range of styles to choose from, with a color, shape and look for every taste.

The company has grown dramatically in size but their core values remain the same – to provide great value, excellent choice and personalized service to all of their customers.

By sourcing all of their products directly from the manufacturers, Readers.com is able to save their customers money and offer great prices for their eyewear.

The company knows that personal style is just as important as getting the right power of lens – glasses reflect who you are, your fashion and taste. Their blog provides customers with helpful articles and posts on different styles of reading glasses, how to get the right shape for your face and great style ideas.

Hassle-free Shopping

Readers.com’s online eyewear store is extremely user-friendly, with an easy-to-browse catalog and a simple ordering process. Whether you’re buying glasses online for the first time or you’re an online eyewear pro, the site’s helpful blog and FAQ section make ordering from Readers.com as simple as a few clicks.

Total Happiness – Guaranteed!

Every pair of reading glasses sold on Readers.com is backed by the company’s “Happiness Guarantee” – which means that if you are not 100% happy with your reading glasses, they will take them back. You have up to 90 days from the purchase date for a full refund.

Chat Directly with Greenwood HQ

Readers.com doesn’t outsource their customer service department. Every email, call and live chat is handled by the team in Greenwood, Indiana – where the company was started and is based.

Giving Back

The company is dedicated to helping people both in this country and worldwide. By partnering with Timmy Global Health, they are supporting the expansion of access to healthcare across the world.

Readers.com donates reading glasses to the people who need them most – adults and children who are unable to access quality medical care in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Ecuador – where a pair of reading glasses can make all the difference to a person’s ability to work and provide for their family.

Our Readers.com Review

After being recommended Readers.com by a friend, and reading some great reviews online, I wanted to try out the site and product for myself. For this review, we ordered a pair of regular readers and a pair of sun readers to see how they stacked up.

Readers.com – Style & Choice: 9/10

With hundreds of styles to choose from, you won’t want to wear another drug store pair again. They’ve got every frame style from full to rimless, as well as safety glasses and foldable pocket readers.

You can also get reading sunglasses.

They offer frames in 5 different sizes – Very Narrow, Narrow, Average, Wide, and Very Wide – so most people should be able to find a pair that fits well.

For lenses, there are single magnification, bifocals, or multifocal computer readers. They do not offer progressives. Lenses come in the following power magnifications:

+1.00+1.25+1.50+1.75
+2.00+2.25+2.50+2.75
+3.00+3.25+3.50+3.75
+4.00 +4.50
+5.00
+6.00 +6.50
+7.00

The site is easy to use, with multiple filter options to help you find the the shape, power, and fit you need.

After looking at several different pairs, I eventually chose a retro Wayfarer-style frames called The Red Bluff in black. They’re a stylish boxy frame that was even featured on the TV series “Covert Affairs”.

The other pair I selected, the Key West Sun Reader in tortoise, are reading sunglasses.

These come with UV-blocking and are great for the beach or pool, as well as when I’m out on the deck with the paper.

I’m not the only one who found their selection and style impressive.

If you want prescription reading glasses or readers with a power lower than +1.00, a good place to get them from is Zenni.com.

Readers.com – Frame Quality 8.5/10

The Bookworm

I found the quality of the frame to be very good for reading glasses. Both pairs I ordered are made from a lightweight plastic and come with spring hinge temples.

They’re both average fit size and look good on men or women.

The construction is solid and I’m able to wear them for several hours without any discomfort.

Some people have complained about the spring hinges coming loose, so that is something to be aware of. I haven’t personally experienced this with the frames I purchased.

Readers.com – Lens Quality 10/10

Naturally, the most important part of reading glasses is how well you can read with them.

The +1.50 lenses in both optical and sunglass lenses I ordered were perfect – I’m able to comfortably read fine print and newspapers without holding them an arm’s length away.

No complaints here!

Readers.com – Online Experience & Customer Service: 9.5/10

My experience browsing, selecting, and ordering reading glasses was easy and fun. Readers.com has an amazing selection of frames in multiple styles, fit, and colors.

Since I knew what power I needed, I selected the appropriate magnification via the dropdown box when placing my order.

If you’re not sure what reading power you need, go to a local store and try on a few pairs to see which magnification works for you.

Or, you can take their Power Finder to help you determine what power suits you best.

I received my package 4 business days after placing my order. Shipping was free since my purchase was over $35. If you spend less than $35, shipping costs $3.95 in the U.S.

I personally didn’t have to contact Readers.com’s Customer Happiness Team since my order went off without a hitch.

However, those who do need to contact them are usually very pleased with the speedy response and assistance provided.

If you email them before 5:30PM EST Monday-Friday, they will respond by close of business that day.

You can reach their customer service team via phone, live chat, or email.

Readers.com – Cost & Value for Money: 9/10

Readers.com has great reading glasses at a very reasonable price. Sure, you can buy yourself a cheap pair at the drugstore with their limited selection, style, and lens options.

But for the same price or less (they offer free shipping over $35), you can get yourself a pair of reading glasses and reading sunglasses that fits your style and needs.

I especially like my reader sunglasses when I’m outside reading a good book or putting something together.

Overall, I found Readers.com to be a great value for the price and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others.

Readers.com Review Summary

After ordering reading glasses and sun readers from Readers.com, I can see why there are so many satisfied customers.

Their website is easy to use, and they have one of the best selections of budget reading glasses I’ve come across on the internet. Ordering was easy and I received my glasses in the mail a few days later without a hitch.

If you’re looking for stylish reading glasses at great prices and quality, Readers.com is the way to go!
